About the Artist: Ruxandra Carter

Ruxandra Carter is a Christian homemaker and an artist with a unique background, blending her Romanian roots and American life in Tennessee. With a deep commitment to her faith, Ruxandra’s artistic journey has been both surprising and transformative—not just for her, but for those around her.

Born and raised in Pitesti, Romania, Ruxandra’s life was shaped by music from a young age. At just six years old, her parents recognized her innate talent and passion for the arts, leading them to enroll her in music school and later, the prestigious “Dinu Lipatti” High School. Her musical path continued in Bucharest, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music with a focus on classical singing from the National University of Music. Ruxandra’s journey then took her to Los Angeles, where she earned an Associate’s degree in Contemporary Vocals from Musicians Institute, eventually meeting her husband along the way.

But life had a surprise in store for her. After years of dedicating herself to music, one morning, Ruxandra picked up a pencil and began sketching shapes and trees. What started as casual doodling soon grew into an undeniable passion. She reminisced about drawing as a child and felt a deep calling to explore this new creative outlet. Little by little, her drawings evolved, and soon, she couldn’t stop. The leap of faith into visual art was both thrilling and terrifying, but Ruxandra is now grateful she took it, leaving behind music to embrace a newfound artistic journey.

Today, Ruxandra’s work reflects her unique perspective and deep faith, as she merges her rich cultural heritage with her love for artistic expression. Whether through the calming lines of her pencil or the vibrant colors she now uses, her art speaks to a spiritual depth and personal exploration that continues to surprise and inspire.
